Into the Hollow : Meditated Explorations of An Appalachian Cove
A visual fiction based on the progression from science to romance of earthen realities. An archive of the turbulent and tranquil remoteness of the Appalachians.
The work is derived from the artist's migration to the boundary line of the wilderness. Like an explorer, she introspects on the surroundings through scientific inquiry. Immersing oneself to the locality; a remarking on the reflection of the self as a curious outsider visualized in hidden notes. A juxtaposition of logging and poetry to encompass the entirety of the environment. A balance of knowledge and mystery, technology and nature, lightness and darkness. The viewer can find the connection in the shared space on Earth.
